Welcome back to the third installment of our Evolve series of live stream expert panel discussions. I’m Des Blanchfield, your host and moderator for today’s event. Joining me are two fantastic subject matter experts – Cameron Senez, the regional lead for containers services business unit at Amazon Web Services, and Harris Schneiderman, the Enterprise Sales Director for the Hybrid Cloud Practice for HP APAC.

    Housekeeping and Audience Participation

Before we dive into the panel discussion, I want to encourage all our viewers to participate in the conversation via the chat window. Feel free to post your questions and comments, and we’ll integrate them into the discussion. You can also follow along via the hashtag on Twitter and engage with the AWS and HP APAC handles on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Navigating the Journey to Running AWS Workloads Off-Region

Cameron Senez delves into the topic of running AWS workloads off-region, shedding light on the various options and mechanisms available for organizations. He discusses the evolution of ECS and the introduction of AWS Outposts, which allows customers to run a range of AWS managed services from straight up compute and storage all the way through ECS or EKS as containers. Cameron also introduces ECS Anywhere, a feature that enables organizations to schedule ECS containers literally anywhere, whether it’s on their own hardware or IoT devices on the factory floor.

The Versatility of Running ECS Off-Region

Cameron emphasizes the three primary options for running and consuming ECS off-region, including on AWS Outposts, on customer’s premise, and on customer’s own equipment with ECS Anywhere. He highlights the hybrid use cases available and the flexibility for organizations to run and manage containers in various scenarios, from on-premises to edge locations.

    Wrapping Up the Discussion

As the hour comes to a close, Des Blanchfield extends his gratitude to both Cameron Senez and Harris Schneiderman for their valuable insights. He expresses his appreciation for their participation and looks forward to having them on again soon. The panel concludes with a thank you to HPE APAC and AWS for sponsoring the event and a call to action for viewers to share the discussion with their colleagues and continue the conversation via the HPE Evolve hashtag.

Stay tuned for the next part of our panel discussion, where we’ll delve into the role of containers in the cloud and the journey from trials and deployment to full operational status. We’ll also explore how HP, APAC, and AWS can help organizations achieve successful outcomes and overcome challenges in their containerization journey. Thank you for joining us, and we look forward to seeing you in the next event. Stay safe and stay tuned for more insightful discussions.
